MIDA Women On The Board Initiative Index is a quarterly index that tracks the number of private and public company board seats filled by women and specifically, seats filled by MIDA On The Board List candidates. Data is pulled from publicly available data, as well as MIDA On The Board List’s internal placement data.

Women on Unicorn Boards

Each year, MIDA Women On The Board Initiative analyzes the gender composition of US and European unicorn company boards. Data is pulled from publicly available sources.

  • 89.79% board seats held by men

  • 10.21% board seats held by women

  • 55.75% companies with no women on board

  • 44.25% companies with 1+ women on board

Each year, MIDA Women On The Board Initiative analyzes the gender composition of a random sampling of 200 of MIDA Women On The Board Initiative’s VC firm members’ portfolio company boards. Companies are privately-held tech companies in various stages of growth. Data is pulled from publicly available sources.
